專長/研究興趣 |
|
興趣 |
1) Prevention for Enterohemorrhagic E. coli infection. Screening of chemical inhibitor for EHEC infection, and inhibition of Shiga toxin production by anti-phage defense system. 2) Synthetic biology and biotechnology. We developed an in vivo target cloning system for long DNA fragment which is too long for PCR amplification. We demonstrate to clone 50-100kb fragment from gram negative bacteria. We are expanding the method to variety of bacteria. In addition, we are developing biotechnological tools by using novel negative selection markers. 3) Bacterial genomic evolution. We found some restriction-modification systems are involved in genomic evolution in uropathogenic E. coli. Novel restriction enzymes were identified and characterized. Then, we are investigating the association between the gene and the bacterial genomic evolution in the pathogenic E. coli. |
方向 |
Bacteria is a simple organism, and E. coli is one of the best studied bacteria. But it's still providing a novel interesting phenomena and findings. Studying the mechanisms on molecular level led us to know the bacteria more and more, then finally I want to understand everything in a cell. |
